Marina Bay invites the city of Singapore to redefine itself. Running a total length of 2.2 miles, the waterfront of the artificially created marina will be developed beyond the standards of gross floor area demands and their respective costs. By adding a rich urban fabric of cultural diversity and strong sense of identity, an animated downtown environment will evolve. This operation, joined with the incorporation of the grand water surface and the generous connections between the marina's open spaces become the means used to abolish the ongoing contradiction between the city center and its periphery.
